After spending  the last few years working with pet owners, emergency crews, and vets through their non-profit Animal Food Bank, Nicole and AJ Frey have become experts in Canada in the need for, and delivery of, quick and effective provision of emergency pet food and supplies into evacuations zones due to natural disasters, police emergencies and turbulent weather.

Having witnessed pets being turned away from boarding due to a lack of vaccination records, picking up pets from police cruisers for temporary fostering for the same reason, and now far too much experience in finding emergency foster homes and placements for pets turned away from emergency boarding due to lack of vaccination and medical records, they knew something had to be done.

“We’ve witnessed a dog dying after a forest fire in 2021 due to a lack of access to it’s medical information. The owner had minutes to flee and took her dog with her. She didn’t have time to find her dogs medication. The vet’s office with the record of the medication also burned down. The length of time it took the governments emergency services to find a way to get her and her dog help resulted in the dog losing it’s life.
